 1. Project Name : Skill Up-gradation Training Programme Under State Employment
     Mission : ( Under the Syllabus of SCTE & VT, Govt. of Odisha)
     Community served : Unemployed and educated youth under the age group of 25 from the state
     Objective :To equip educated un-employed youths with marketable skills to enhance their capacity to secure employment with scope for adequate income generation. To increase the productivity of the skilled individuals who would be used for nation's development.
     Scope : The students are identified and training in the following trades are provided. APT also runs a dedicated training and placement cell that provide assistance in securing internships and jobs for their students.
  1. Data Entry Operator (DEO)
  2. Tally ( Account)
  3. Repairing of Electronics Appliances.
  4. Computer Hardware technician
  5. Repairing of Electrical Appliances.
  6. House Wiring
  7. Welding & Fabrication
      Strategies : Mobilisation team identifies such students from rural and semi urban areas.These students are trained under the guidance of qualified teachers and in industry standard laboratories. Hostel accommodation is provided to all the students during thetraining.
      Duration of Training : 6 months per batch
      Period : April 2007 to March 2010

2. Project Name : PMKVY skill training ( through IL & FS )
    Community served : less educated, poor and out of school youth from the state
    Objective : to enable a large number of youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood.
    Scope : The youth are identified and training in the following trades are provided. APT also runs a dedicated training and placement cell that provide assistance in securing internships and jobs for their students.
  1. Assistant Electrician
  2. Fitter- Fabrication
  3. Fitter- Electrical Assembly.

3. Project Name : Imparting Diploma Engineering ( Sponsored through TATA Steel)
    Community served : Economically weaker students who have been displaced due to Tata Steel plant at Duburi, Odisha
    Objective :To educate and rehabilitate economically weaker students to take up industryrelevant training at Diploma level that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Scope : The youth are identified and training in the following branches. APT also runs a dedicated training and placement cell that provide assistance in securing internships and jobs for their students.

  3. Civil engineering
  4. Automobile engineering
    Strategies : Students are sponsored by the State Government and are trained under the guidance of qualified teachers and in industry standard laboratories. Hostel accommodation is provided to all the students during the course.

    Amount received : 87 x 45000 = 3,915,000
4. Name of the Project : Arts & Performing Arts Programme
    Community served :children, who belong to marginalized socio-economic sections of society –a large majority of whose parents are illiterate/semi-literate and work as domestic servants, industrial workers, rickshaw-pullers, street vendors, plumbers and carpenters.
    Objective :to provide a learning environment to explore the uniqueness within each child and bring their creativity to the fore.
    Scope :Exposure to art is of great importance and helps expand a child’s vision, inculcate a sense of discipline and helps him/her dream. Through this project, children have the option to learn Odishi, kathak, tabla, vocal music, theatre, art, craft and pottery.
    Strategies :The engagement of each child in these art forms is process oriented. Professionals trained in various arts and performing arts are an integral part of this program who come to the centre and train the children in their respective fields of interest.

    Main outcomes : No. of beneficiaries 250, 7 children came to the state level competitions.

5. Name of the project : Awareness about opportunities among the youth
    Community served : Youth, particularly those in colleges in villages and semi urban areas of Odishacontinue to remain uninformed about opportunities that can help them build skills and improve their career prospects. Internships, scholarships, events, workshops and competitions can help often them take huge leaps professionally.
    Objective :The purpose of the project is two fold - to increase awareness about opportunities; improve quality of and access to information and to create a culture of sharing opportunities amongst youth (which currently does not exist)
    Scope :This project is about creating an online pool of opportunities (scholarships, internships, events, competitions and more) across domains (technology, arts and design, business, entrepreneurship, sciences, medicine, sports and more) for students and fresh graduates.
    Strategies :easy to use online portal.
    Period : 2012 to 2015
    Main outcomes : No. of beneficiaries 8000, 53 youth got jobs, 50 became entrepreneurs and about 2300 went for higher studies

6. Project Name : Broadening access to tertiary education
    Community served : Bright high school students from poor homes
    Objective :There is a systemic bias against poor students gaining admission to and succeeding at India’s premier universities. Students from poor homes have limited access to additional coaching for competitive exams due to the high fees charged for such tutoring, and those who do clear the entrance exams have trouble coping due to their lack of fluency in English and in access to professional networks.
    Scope : The bright high school students from poor homes are identified and provided them with mentorship, training and financial aid in the years leading to university and continuing all through their years in university. Each of these students is paired with his/her mentor, a student from a premier university, who provides guidance and support. APT also runs a dedicated training and placement cell that provide assistance in securing internships and jobs for their students.
    Strategies : Mobilisation team identifies such students in consultation with school authorities. Each of these students is paired with his/her mentor, a student from a premier university, who provides guidance and support. APT also runs a dedicated training and placement cell that provide assistance in securing internships and jobs for their students.
